Easy recipe for no knead bread and tips on how to open a microbakery – all at the Real Bread Festival!

By all accounts the Real Bread Festival at Old Spitalfields Market in early November was a massive success!  Well we old lags remember last year when we were nearly blown away on the South Bank!  Not this year!  No, this year everyone was warm and dry (and protected from the wind) in the market.  A fantastic cookery theatre provided the space for a range of great classes and speakers from a tutored talk by Chris Young of the Real Bread Campaign to a guided bread tasting with Andrew Whitley; from a cooking demonstration by Rachel de Thample to a live “no knead” bun class and discussion on setting up a microbakery by the Bread Angels – there was something for everyone!

The event was really well attended, fantastically organised, and great fun so my spies tell me!  And if the photos of the Bread Angels are representative, it looks like I missed a truly great event.  If you missed it and are interesting in setting up a micro bakery, come and take the Bread Angels course with us!  If you just want to take a bread course and learn a bit more about baking real bread, come along and learn.  We look forward to welcoming you!
