November 2016 sees the launch of the first annual Small Food Awards! The School of Artisan Food and Virtuous Bread have teamed together to host the awards which are an important event on the UK food calendar because they celebrate the professional micro producer who cannot always compete in the more mainstream awards against much larger and more automated producers. All producers started somewhere and, frequently, disruptive change and innovation are most pronounced at the level of the micro producers.
We are delighted to have some partners in the awards.
Camilla Barnard, from spectacularly successful food company Rude Health is providing coaching on branding and retail growth to the first prize winners in all categories.
Jane Mason, the original provider of training for micro bakers at Virtuous Bread is providing coaching on business strategy to the first prize winners in all categories.Gilchester's Organics is providing flour to all the prize winners in the baking and viennoiserie categories.
Russums, wonderful provider of kitchen kit of all kinds will be awarding some wonderful prizes from their store cupboards!
And Bakery Bits is giving away a wonderful baking kit!
There are other things as well!
Remember, the prize giving is on 24 November but entries close on Thursday. If you would like to compete, please contact us and enter today! If you would like to partner with us to honour and support excellent micro food producers in the UK, click here and let us know!
