This year's Small Food Awards had some great cheeses entered into it. With expert judges looking for how cheese "breaks" and "layers" and "flakes" and how it tastes at the start, middle, and end, what it looks and smells and feels like - we all learned a huge amount about cheese. We had three fantastic cheese makers win prizes this year.
The winner was Gillian Clough from Ten Acres Cheese for her Hebden goat's cheese.
Sophie Summerlin from Cow Close Farm won second prize for Stanage Millstone cheese.
In third place came Clare and Tom Noblet from Whin Yeats Dairy for their Fellstone cheese. Sadly they could not come to the ceremony.
Here are the winner of the top two prizes! We caught them trading photographs of goats during the lunch before the awards ceremony.
